Mayor Dickson, while attending the League of Municipalities Conference in Atlantic City several days ago, posed a question that caught the attention of municipal officials in attendance: In areas with high density and well estabilshed municipal governments, is county government really necessary?

Ellen Dickson holds a Masters in Business Administration from Babson College and an undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts in Boston. She and her husband Chip raised three children, all of whom graduated from the Summit public schools system.
